1. Getting to Senate House

Senate House is in central London (Bloomsbury). Nearby Underground stations include Russell Square, Goodge Street, Tottenham Court Road, Holborn, Euston Square, and Warren Street. Nearby National Rail hubs include Euston and King’s Cross St Pancras.

Step-free travel planning Not all Underground stations and entrances are step-free, and lift availability can change on the day. We recommend planning your journey using TfL Go’s step-free options and checking lift status before you travel. Please allow extra time for transfers in central London, especially at peak times.

Arriving by taxi or rideshare Taxis and rideshare vehicles can drop off directly outside Senate House on Malet Street. If you need assistance from the vehicle to the entrance, please let us know in advance.

2. Entering and Moving Around Senate House

Senate House has ramps at each entrance and lifts providing access to every floor, so all conference spaces are reachable without using stairs. For full venue details visit the ICSR 2026 venue page.

Conference spaces include Beveridge Hall, Chancellor’s Hall, Senate Room, MacMillan Hall, and workshop rooms.

3. Accessible Toilets

Accessible toilets are available within the Senate House complex.

4. Seating, Queues, and Breaks

Reserved seating — We can arrange aisle seats, front seats for lip-reading, or space for mobility devices.

Priority queueing — If standing in queues is difficult, we can support priority access at registration and catering.

Rest space — Senate House has spaces to take a break away from the main conference areas.

5. Hearing Support and Microphone Policy

We will apply a microphone-first policy for audience questions in larger rooms: questions via mic, with session chairs repeating questions where needed.

6. Emergency Evacuation (PEEP)

Senate House uses refuge points and staff coordination to support evacuation for those unable to use stairs. If you may need evacuation assistance, please contact us before the conference to prepare a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP).

7. Programme Timings

Sessions on conference days (1–3 July) typically run 09:00–12:00 and 14:00–17:00, with lunch 12:00–13:00 and keynotes 13:00–14:00. If you need extra time between rooms or for medication and sensory breaks, we encourage you to use the scheduled breaks for transitions. There are also extra shows in the evenings.
